Royal wedding fever has well and truly engulfed the country. With such a major event such as this, and Viva’s interest in all things weddings, it was a photographic opportunity not to be missed.
So with a bag full of old film cameras in tow, we headed up to London on the first train of the morning (which was packed). There was an amazing atmosphere in the city with everyone caught up in the spirit of the day and London looked really different with all the bunting, lack of cars and Union Jacks everywhere.
We were well aware that we were not going to get any good pictures of the bride and groom. We wouldn’t be able to compete with the other professional photographers who had paid upwards of £8000 for some prime shooting locations.
Instead we wanted to concentrate on documenting the crowd and the way that they were celebrating the day and to show what it was like to be there on this historic day.
