Part of my 31 for January set (a few favourite shots of 2013)
So I'm always looking for interesting ways of capturing the story of a wedding day. Being a bloke (I use that in a very loose sense) I read a lot of mens blogs and I've always been struck by those articles on 'mens stuff'. You know the kind of thing that men like to carry and can't survive without. I love the way that everything is laid out in a very graphic way.
So when I was shooting this groom during the getting ready stage for his London Wedding, I noticed that he had all these bits on the side that he needed to take with him. So I just spent a few minutes laying them out on the floor to shoot.
Having gone though a wedding myself I know that the day goes by so fast that you forget the small details. So I really like the fact that this groom can look back on these things that he needed to make the day go smoothly in years to come and say, 'oh yes I used to wear that aftershave...look at my old mobile phone.....where did I put those cufflinks'....and so on.
