Islington Town Hall Wedding

WeddingsAdam Bronkhorst3 Comments

Ok i'm getting these images out early as I couldn't wait to edit them. I shot such a fun day yesterday at Islington Town Hall and The Amadeus Centre in London. With the lovely Gemma & Will and all their cool friends and family.

I just love winter weddings as it lets me play with light and get creative. So come on winter wedding people, get in contact with me as I WANT to shoot your wedding!!!

I've shot these two venues before and while I don't really like shooting the same venue more than once, (as I don't want to shoot the same photos over and over again) yesterday actually was cool as I really had to push myself to be creative and get something different and alternative from the shots.

So I well done Gemma and Will who are probably on a plane somewhere about to have a fun honeymoon.

Buxted Park Sneak Peek

WeddingsAdam Bronkhorst1 Comment

It's sneak peek time!!!! I've just shot an amazing winter wedding at Buxted Park Hotel in Sussex for Eleanor and Jon, who booked me because they love my off camera flash work and how I light winter weddings and couples.

So I thought i'd go a little bit out there with the lighting and coloured gels as I knew they'd love something a bit more out there and creative.

Hope you like em!

The Long Barn Hampshire

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

It's the morning after the night before and like most wedding photographers, I couldn't wait to see what i'd captured at Sarah & Tai's wedding yesterday.

Going through the shot's i'm really pleased with the images. Sarah & Tai booked me for several reasons, but one of the main ones was that their wedding was one day before the shortest day of the year and it was going to be dark at around 4pm. As you probably know by now, that really doesn't bother me. I love Winter Weddings, so I was really looking forward to this one.

I'm really cutting down on the number of weddings i'm shooting a year, so I love when they do come about as I can put my everything into them, rather than being so jaded by shooting so many a year.

So this one was great fun. Really great couple, brilliant venue (The Long Barn), lovely guests etc. Coupled with the fact that I got a good friend of mine and one of the leading UK wedding photographers to second shoot for me. The one and only Lisa Devlin. So it was a really fun day all round!

I normally only do one or two sneak peeks, but I couldn't narrow them down today, so here's four for you and I haven't even picked any of the brilliant shots that Lisa took.

Well done to Sarah & Tai and a happy Christmas to one and all.

Creative Brighton Couple

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

I love shooting weddings for creative couples!!!

Lou & Rich are a very creative Brighton couple. Rich is an animator and Lou does all kinds of creativness with paper. Seriously check her out.

So they got married yesterday in Bridport Dorset and we had a blast.  I've been super quick and got these sneak peeks out for them as I was dying for them both to see these.

So thanks guys for having us and hope you had half the fun we did yesterday.

Harvest Festival Chic Wedding

WeddingsAdam Bronkhorst1 Comment

OK...WOW....just WOW.

I shot such a great wedding yesterday. I wish they could all be like that and it was only 10 minutes from my house!!!!

It's very rare that i'll do two sneak peeks from a wedding, and unheard of to do three, but I just couldn't decide which image to choose from the awesome wedding of Hollie & Will.

If you haven't guessed the theme was Harvest Festival Chic all courtesy of Vicky at Victoria Lilly Vintage.  They pulled it off in spectacular style with all the guests told to dress in 'country chic'. The ceremony was at Long Furlong Barn in Worthing, Sussex and the rest of the day was at Hollie's Dads farm just up the road from where I live.

I'm sure to do a full blog post at some point, but for now just enjoy these pictures and massive congrats to Will & Hollie.

Brighton Royal Pavilion

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

How do you stay creative photographing weddings in the same venue over and over again? I always get asked by wedding couples if I've shot their venue before. I usually like answering a big fat "NO" to that question. Basically because I like to shoot new venues and getting excited about shooting something new; rather than taking the same photos every time.

Well there is one exception to that rule.......Brighton's Royal Pavilion.

Why? Well I'll tell you.

Living in Brighton, i've shot quite a few weddings at this wonderful venue....and it's so unique that I really enjoy the challenge of shooting in there over and over again. And seeing how creative I can be in the one room that they always take you to for the couples shoot.

So I thought i'd show you a few of my favourite shots from inside the spectacular Music Room.

Northbrook Park Wedding

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

Quick sneaky peeky from yesterdays wedding at Northbrook Park in Surrey.

So it rained when we were supposed to do the couples shoot yesterday and when I say it rained, it really RAINED.....thunder bolts and lighting, very very.....well you know the rest.

We were kind thrown out of kilter as i'd planned a great walk all around the wonderful grounds of Northbrook Park, with the sun streaming in amongst the trees, but that all changed.

I managed to grab a few minutes with Lauren and Jack between the starters and main course and we shot a few pictures, when I spied this wonderful shadow and thought it looked very graphic.

Sometimes you have to change your game up quickly as a photographer and sometimes something so simple as horizontal lines with a diagonal shadow work wonders.

Massive congrats to Lauren & Jack.

Hendall Manor Barns

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

Ok so i'm not normally this 'on it' on a Sunday's only just 8am. But i've got a stupidly busy week, so I thought i'd get these images shot at Hendall Manor Barns, Sussex, yesterday out first thing.

Anyway. Yesterday was the wedding of Tom & Lara, it was supposed to rain, really didn't though. Which was great and a massive relief as all the images I'd planed were for outside.

So I thought i'd share these with you. They were shot at almost exactly the same time, in the same location, but with two different exposures. I find it really interesting that as a photographer you can shoot something so differently and that they have such a different feel to the images.

Massive congrats to Tom & Lara who are about to jet off to Japan for their honeymoon!!!

Rushton Hall Sneak peek

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

Back into the wedding fold after a few weeks off. So I have to admit that I was slightly nervous about this one, as I hadn't had a chance to meet Emily & Eddie before the wedding. We'd only had a Skype call a few days before.

But I needn't have worried as they were both so lovely and cool and their guests were great fun. We had the best time and the photo booth was one of the coolest that I've done in a while.

So this is Emily & Eddie enjoying a quiet moment during their couples portraits at Rushton Hall in Northamptonshire.

Richmond Park Wedding

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

A quick sneak peek from Jo and Paul's, laid back East End / Surrey wedding at Orleans House Gallery & Richmond Park.

It was a right proper East End knees up. Good times were had, my cheeks hurt from the speeches, Paul got a surprise 40th birthday present, I took loads of photos and spent the day with a lovely bunch of people.

Massive congrats to Jo & Paul, it was a fab day.

Chichester sneak peek

WeddingsAdam Bronkhorst1 Comment

Here is a quick sneak peek from Saturdays fun wedding of Chrissy & Matt at Farbridge Barns near Chichester, Sussex.

What a lovely relaxed day it was too and such a cool venue with amazing big skies all around. Massive congrats to Chrissy & Matt. And well done to Chrissy for climbing up on the big pile of logs at my suggestion (despite admitting that she is the clumsiest person ever) the shot looks EPIC.

Movie themed wedding

WeddingsAdam BronkhorstComment

I shot the most AMAZING wedding at Shepperton Studios in London at the weekend. It was EPIC!!!!!

Here is a quick sneak peek from this fun movie themed wedding that had it all. And I mean really it was a super cool wedding. There was even a guest dressed as Chewbacca!!!

Oh and the meal was from the couples local Indian Takeaway (as it was their favourite food). Can you imagine the phone call:

"Yes I'd like to order a take away please?"

"Certainly, what would you like?"

"Oh, I'd like Chicken Tikka Masala for 120 people.......oh and do we get popadoms with that?"

I loved this wedding, it was so great and picking just one photo from the day was too tough, but I just love this shot. It totally represents a slightly new direction that I want to take my photography, this year.

Keep watching the blog for more images from this ultra cool wedding.

Flicking though records

bride flicking though records in a shop in Rye Part of my 31 for January set (a few favourite shots of 2013)

I love this shot. It was just a candid moment during a quick couples shoot at Sarah & Ian's winter wedding in Rye.

We'd escaped the falling light and popped into this vintage record shop opposite the wedding venue (The George in Rye, Sussex) where the reception was taking place.

I'd already pre planned things and found a Dr Who record for Ian to hold who is the biggest Dr Who nut that I know....well actually I do know another photographer who may lay claim to that title...but anyway. This was taken on the fly as Ian was buying the record....he couldn't resist himself....even though he doesn't own a record player.

So check out the Dr Who shot with Ian in a Fez......because we all know that Fez's are cool.

And if you'd like to see all the images from this slightly Dr Who inspired wedding....well touches of the Who universe. Check out that link.

Alternative View of Rise Hall

31 for Jan, WeddingsAdam Bronkhorst2 Comments

rise hall in yorkshire lit up at night Part of my 31 for January set (a few favourite shots of 2013)

I shot one of the coolest weddings at Rise Hall in Yorkshire during the summer. Rise Hall is owned by Sarah Beeny of Property Ladder fame and it's such a great venue to shoot at as it's been specifically set up to be a wedding venue and Isabelle & Paddy loved the building and architecture.

Which is great for me, as I didn't need to worry about moving furniture or damaging family heirlooms....not that I normally do.

So anyway back to this shot. I sometimes like to set up one final shot at the end of the night, as it's a great way to be really creative and give my couples something different. It's also really nice to say goodbye and wish them luck when they are on their own with me and not in the middle of a dance floor.

I knew that Rise Hall didn't have any flood lights at the front of the building, so not many people would have seen it at night and there certainly would not be any night time shots of it. So using my 'Grand Master Flash' skills I set up a couple of lights to light the building with a red and a blue gel. I also added a bit of photography magic with the smoke.

We ended up with a totally unique photo for Isabelle and Paddy of them on their wedding day that they love.

Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels

the groomsmen looking super cool against a rolls royce Part of my 31 for January set (a few favourite shots of 2013)

So when i'm shooting the girls at a wedding I try to make them look as beautiful and elegant as I can. But when I'm shooting the guys, I know they aren't bothered about looking handsome and sophisticated......they just want to look 'cool as f*&%'.

Well, with that in mind when I was shooting the group shots at this wedding at Brighton College, I had noticed that one of the guests had turned up in this amazing vintage Rolls Royce. That was it, there was no way that I wasn't going to shoot the guys against this gorgeous Roller.

What I love about this shot is that it could be something out of Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

So if you want to look cool as f*&% just give me a shout and i'll be happy to oblige.

Check out some more photos from this great Brighton College Wedding.
